La Chola Poblete's First Brazilian Solo Show at MASP Examines Andean Pop and Colonial Legacies

From March 6 to August 2, 2024, the Museu de Arte de São Paulo Assis Chateaubriand will host La Chola Poblete's inaugural solo exhibition in Brazil. Born in Guaymallén in 1989, the Argentine artist explores pop art through a Latin American perspective, focusing on themes of gender, sexuality, and chola identities. Curated by Adriano Pedrosa and Leandro Muniz, the exhibition showcases pieces such as 'Vírgenes cholas' (2022–present) and 'PAP ART / Pop Andino' (2023), along with the sound installation 'Manifesto Pop Andino' (2023) and the photoperformance 'Il Martirio di Chola.'
