Kyla McMillan Appointed Director of New York's Armory Show Fair

Kyla McMillan has been named the new director of The Armory Show, a prominent New York art fair. Her appointment was announced by Frieze, which acquired the fair last year. McMillan begins her role this week, succeeding Nicole Berry, who departed in March. Previously, McMillan spent a year as a director at David Zwirner after leading Gavin Brown's Enterprise for four years. She recently established Saint George Projects, a gallery and consultancy that has presented exhibitions featuring artists such as Alvaro Barrington and Henri Paul Broyard. In a statement, McMillan expressed her aim to empower collectors and highlight the fair's function as a platform for artists, galleries, and art enthusiasts. She noted The Armory Show's longstanding reputation as a foundational event for the New York and U.S. art markets, and she looks forward to building on its achievements while promoting new voices and diverse perspectives in contemporary art. The 2024 edition of The Armory Show is scheduled for September 5-8 at the Javits Center in New York.
