Kwangho Lee unveils woven leather installation 'Lightful' at Bottega Veneta Milan during Design Week 2026

architecture-design · 2026-04-21

During Milan Design Week 2026, Kwangho Lee, a Korean artist, unveiled his inaugural woven leather creations at Bottega Veneta's Via Sant'Andrea location. The installation, named 'Lightful,' showcases green and black leather cords that hang from the ceiling, encircling a water feature, with some elements crafted into basket-like shapes that hide illuminated LEDs. This marks Lee's third partnership with creative director Louise Trotter. The endeavor began when Lee was invited to design lamps for Bottega Veneta's S/S 2026 runway, which subsequently led to his participation in the 'Weaving the World' exhibition in Seoul in June 2025. Lee's hand-woven pieces utilize custom fettucce leather, developed on-site over several days, alongside his 'Ghost in the Shell' chairs.
