In 2021, the KW Institute of Contemporary Art in Berlin marks its 30th anniversary, having been established in 1991 and initiating the Berlin Biennale in 1998 with curators Hans Ulrich Obrist, Nancy Spector, and Klaus Biesenbach. The anniversary festivities will showcase exhibitions by Renée Green, Leonilson, Michael Stevenson, and Amelie von Wulffen, alongside group presentations by Iman Issa and Ghislaine Leung. Additionally, a performance by Michele Rizzo, a sound installation by Susan Philipsz honoring Rosa Luxemburg, a reinstallation by Katharina Sieverding, and limited-edition soaps by Sissi Tolaas are included. From June to December 2021, an auction featuring works from 60 artists will take place. A weekend celebration from July 2-4 will feature events and a publication detailing KW's history.
