KW Institute and Volkswagen Launch VW Research Fellowship for Berlin Art Archive Digitization

Kunst-Werke Berlin e. V. / KW Institute for Contemporary Art, in partnership with Volkswagen Group, has launched the VW Research Fellowship. This two-year position focuses on archiving contemporary art, with plans to digitize parts of KW's archives for easier access by the public, researchers, and schools. Funded by Volkswagen AG, the research will explore KW's historical role and influence in Berlin. The fellow will receive a monthly stipend of €2,500 over 24 months, paid quarterly. Applicants need degrees in art history, archive studies, library science, or related fields, along with relevant experience and fluency in German, while living in Berlin. Applications, including a project proposal, CV, cover letter, and references, should be sent as a PDF to Constanze Arendt at ca@kw-berlin.de by September 3, 2018. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed in person or via video call, and the fellow will present their findings through public workshops and discussions.
