Kurimanzutto and Thomas Dane Gallery Revive Signals London Legacy

exhibition · 2026-05-04

The kurimanzutto gallery, established in 1999 by José Kuri, Mónica Manzutto, and a group of 13 artists including Gabriel Orozco, has collaborated with Thomas Dane Gallery to showcase 'Signals: If You Like I Shall Grow' in London until July 21, 2018. This exhibition pays homage to the original Signals gallery (1964-1966), which was founded by David Medalla, Gustav Metzger, and Marcello Salvadori, and featured solo exhibitions by artists like Lygia Clark. Curated by Isobel Whitelegg and initiated by Kuri in 2016, it includes works from Lygia Clark, Gianni Colombo, and others. Kuri expressed gratitude to Thomas Dane for the collaboration and looks forward to welcoming Dane and François Chantala in Mexico next year. Gabriel Kuri recalled meeting Medalla in 1994.
