Kunstmuseum Karlsruhe explores five centuries of emotion in graphic art show
Kunstmuseum Karlsruhe presents “Expressive! Graphic art from Dürer to Schlichter,” an exhibition running from May 23, 2025 to October 4, 2026. It features around 250 works from the museum’s graphic collection, spanning over 500 years. Artists include Albrecht Dürer, Rembrandt, Käthe Kollwitz, Rudolf Schlichter, and Marlene Dumas. The exhibition is the first comprehensive presentation of the museum’s graphic holdings. Thematic rooms examine expression as a visual language across time and culture. One section focuses on the depiction of emotion through facial expression and gesture.
