Kunsthalle Lissabon Turns 15 with Retrospective Group Shows
Kunsthalle Lissabon, a non-profit art space in Portugal founded by Luís Silva and João Mourão in July 2009, is gearing up to celebrate its 15th anniversary in 2024. To mark this milestone, they will pause individual exhibitions until 2025 and will instead present three group retrospectives, curated by Alberta Romano, Yina Jiménez, and Filipa Ramos. The first show, "Lettera d'Amore," curated by Alberta Romano, will run until April 27, 2024, exploring themes like intimacy and refuge with works from artists such as Alice dos Reis and Laure Prouvost. Silva and Mourão will also showcase a special exhibition featuring over 60 solo works from the institution’s history, including pieces by Laure Prouvost and Athena Papadopoulos.
