Kunsthalle Düsseldorf Opens Restricted Suitbertus Lake for 2026 Exhibition

Kunsthalle Düsseldorf, in collaboration with SAC Düsseldorf-Kaiserswerth 1909 e. V., will present the exhibition 'Beneath the Surface, Beyond the Trees' in summer 2026. The show is part of the project series Kunsthalle unterwegs and will take place at Suitbertus Lake in Düsseldorf-Kaiserswerth, a site normally closed to the public. The lake has been leased by the fishing club since 1970. For the exhibition, the lake will be temporarily opened and transformed into a stage for artistic interventions that contrast with the local ecosystem, offering new perspectives on the location. The project emphasizes the lake as a dynamic tapestry of movements, rhythms, and transitions, where water, shore, and vegetation maintain a delicate balance.
