Kunst Meran Opens Interactive Summer Exhibition

Kunst Meran/o Arte has launched its summer season with 'Together. Interact ‒ Interplay ‒ Interfere,' an exhibition curated by Judith Waldmann with Anna Zinelli, emphasizing visitor participation. The show is structured around three themes: interact (collective actions and participatory projects), interplay (visitor interaction), and interfere (sociopolitical community forms). Featured artists include Adrian Piper, Francis Alÿs, Marina Abramović and Ulay, Rirkrit Tiravanija, Yoko Ono, and Anna Maria Maiolino, alongside younger artists and local collectives. Works made for the show include Brave New Alps with MAGARI association's 'Orto volante' on the museum terrace and Hannes Egger's piece on pandemic dynamics. Gender identity is explored through Norma Jeane's one-ton LGBTQIA+-colored plasticine cube and SPIT!'s video on stereotypes. Summer events will culminate in a reenactment of Daniel Spoerri's 1985 dinner at Castel Fontana, where soup is cooked by the public. Kunst Meran Merano Arte recently received an honorable mention at the XXVII Compasso d'Oro ADI for 'Design for Alps,' a research volume on design in Trentino, South Tyrol, and Tyrol, created with NABA and the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano.
