Kuba Woźniczka's Studzienno 27: Black-Timber Cabins in Polish Woodland
Kuba Woźniczka, a Polish architect and co-founder of KameleonLab, has finalized Studzienno 27, which consists of four holiday cabins located in Poland's Stołowe Mountains National Park. Remarkably, 85% of the site has been preserved, limiting construction to existing clearings. Each cabin spans 85 square meters across two levels, with the ground floor housing living, dining, and kitchen areas, along with a bedroom, while the upper floor contains another bedroom and a bathroom. Constructed from cross-laminated timber (CLT), the cabins are strategically designed to maintain scenic views and protect surrounding trees. The exteriors feature blackened timber cladding, and the interiors, designed by Wrocław's Madde Studio, showcase exposed timber and custom carpentry. Woźniczka highlighted the importance of harmonizing with the landscape, ensuring no trees were removed. Photography by Maja Bułkowska.
