architecture-design · 2026-05-04

The project by Kuba & Pilar architekti is a collective housing development in Žďár nad Sázavou, Czech Republic. Completed in 2025, the 2,064 m² wooden structure forms a traditional city block at the corner of Sázavská and K Milířům streets. The design creates a hierarchy of spaces from public streets to semi-private courtyards and private front gardens. A south-facing semi-public courtyard and vegetated recreational areas are located on the western side. The architects are Ladislav Kuba and Tomáš Pilař, with co-authors Radka Vašut and Ivona Uherková. Suppliers include Cemix, Dols, Fermacell, Kone, Korado, PKS okna, Rako, and StoraEnso.
