Krzentowski Design Collection Showcased at Galerie Lafayette

exhibition · 2026-04-23

The exhibition 'Aujourd'hui plus qu'hier et moins que demain' at La Galerie des Galeries (Galerie Lafayette) in Paris presented 164 design objects from the collection of Didier and Clémence Krzentowski, spanning the last half-century of applied arts. Curated by Caroline Bourgeois with scenography by Bruno Rousseaud, the show divided the space into seven zones evoking traditional home areas, from terrace to bathroom. The collection, built over ten years through Kreo agency, features works by 59 designers including Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand, Pierre Paulin, Verner Panton, Ettore Sottsass, Roger Tallon, Gae Aulenti, Ron Arad, Radi Designers, Hella Jongerius, Droog Design, David Dubois, Ineke Hans, and the Bouroullec brothers. The title, a verse by Rosemonde Gérard, reflects the collectors' passionate, accumulative approach. Didier Krzentowski stated, 'I live with my collection because it's the only way to understand an object or a work.' The exhibition ran from April 2 to May 30, 2009.
