Koyo Kouoh Curates 2016 EVA International in Limerick

Koyo Kouoh, founding artistic director of RAW Material Company in Dakar and curator of the 1:54 Contemporary African Art Fair, has announced the title and artist list for the 2016 EVA International. The biennial will take place across venues in Limerick, Ireland, coinciding with the centenary of the 1916 Easter Rising. Its theme, "Still (the) Barbarians," addresses Ireland's post-colonial condition. The exhibition features 57 artists including Pio Abad, Kader Attia, Tiffany Chung, Liam Gillick, Carsten Höller, Alfredo Jaar, Kapwani Kiwanga, Abdoulaye Konaté, Naeem Mohaiemen, Otobong Nkanga, Ulrike Ottinger, Tracey Rose, and others from diverse international backgrounds. The event was announced on January 21, 2016.
