Kounellis Graphic Works and Three Unpublished Series at Istituto Centrale per la Grafica
On January 10, the Istituto Centrale per la Grafica in Rome will conclude its exhibition dedicated to Jannis Kounellis (1936–2017). This event showcases the book 'Kounellis. Impronte' and features a roundtable discussion with printmakers Corrado Albicocco, Matti Har-El, Romolo Bulla, alongside art historians Laura Cherubini, Bruno Corà, and Franco Fanelli. Curator Antonella Renzitti emphasized that the focus will be on Kounellis's artistry. The exhibition presents three series of never-before-seen graphic works, including carborundum prints from 2014, twelve terragraph plates, and twenty-four photographs chronicling his artistic journey. Director Maria Antonella Fusco mentioned that the preparation took two years, while five pieces from Romolo and Rosalba Bulla's printshop were omitted due to being multiples. Kounellis's influence is regarded as a spiritual legacy.
