Korean Video Art Survey at MASI Lugano
MASI Lugano presents 'K- NOW! Korean Video Art Today', a major survey of Korean video art curated by Francesca Benini and Je Yu Moon. The exhibition features works by eight artists and collectives: Chan-kyong Park, Jane Jin Kaisen, Ayoung Kim, 업체eobchae (Nahee Kim, Cheonseok Oh, Hwi Hwang), Sungsil Ryu, Heecheon Kim, Onejoon Che, and Sojung Jun. It runs until July 19, 2026, at the LAC's ipogeo hall and Palazzo Reali. The show explores themes of history, technology, and social critique. Highlights include Park's panoramic installation 'Citizen’s Forest', Kaisen's videos on the Jeju massacre, Kim's 'Delivery Dancer’s Sphere' on interconnected life, and Che's 'Made in Korea' on African migration. Heecheon Kim's 'In Ghost 1990' uses VR. The curators emphasize video art's transnational power.
