Korean Traditional Painting in Alter-age: KCCUK Exhibition Bridges Generations
From 26 June to 21 August 2026, the Korean Cultural Centre UK (KCCUK) will host 'Korean Traditional Painting in Alter-age: Pure and Hybrid' in London, in collaboration with Seoul's Ilmin Museum of Art. This exhibition showcases both historical masters and modern artists, such as Jean Song and Hwang Kyumin. Curator Jaemin Cha highlights the traditional technique Mo-Im-Bang, aiming to educate UK visitors about the history of Korean painting while advocating for the term 'Hangukhwa' over 'Oriental Painting.' Following its London showing, the exhibition will move to Belgium and the EU from 17 September to 13 November 2026. Supported by various cultural entities, it features a BTS installation and discussions among artists expressing gratitude to RM for his contributions.
