Koma Commercial Installation by U.GA Architects in Seoul

In the Haeridan-gil neighborhood of Seoul, South Korea, the architectural firm U.GA Architects has completed a commercial installation named Koma. The project, curated by Miwa Negoro, covers an area of 51 square meters and was completed in 2025. The design team includes Soon-jung Shim and Hyo-kyung Kwon, with Dae-woo Yu as the principal architect. The general contractor is Wiz Construction Co., Ltd., and the project utilized products from Namsun Aluminum. Photographs of the installation were taken by Sangin Nam. The installation is situated at a sharp, angular intersection within the neighborhood, which has undergone urban renewal, transforming a typical residential area into a cultural urban landscape. The architecture aims to respond to the layered history of the area, where old Western-style houses have been reinterpreted with contemporary sensibilities. The project emphasizes attitude and harmony over physical scale, establishing a presence on a precarious boundary.
