Koki Tanaka named Deutsche Bank Artist of the Year 2015 with Berlin exhibition planned

Japanese artist Koki Tanaka has been selected as Deutsche Bank's Artist of the Year for 2015, becoming the sixth recipient of this annual honor. The award's previous winners include Wangechi Mutu from Kenya, Yto Barrada representing France and Morocco, Roman Ondák of Slovakia, Imran Qureshi from Pakistan, and Victor Man of Romania. A significant exhibition of Tanaka's work will be mounted at the Deutsche Bank KunstHalle in Berlin during spring 2015. This presentation will be accompanied by a dedicated catalogue. The announcement was made in July 2014, with ArtReview Asia having previously featured Tanaka in their Spring/Summer 2014 issue.
