Kochi-Muziris Biennale 2024 announces 66 artists for 'For The Time Being' edition

The sixth edition of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale is set to commence on 12 December 2024, concluding on 31 March 2025, in the historic port city of Kochi. Curated by Nikhil Chopra alongside HH Art Spaces from Goa, the exhibition, titled 'For The Time Being,' will showcase 66 artists and collectives hailing from over 20 nations. It will feature 50 new commissions displayed in public areas and heritage sites, such as Aspinwall House, Pepper House, and Durbar Hall. The curatorial statement highlights the importance of engaging with Kochi's environmental and resource contexts to foster collaboration. Notable participating artists include Marina Abramović, Tino Sehgal, and Ibrahim Mahama. The biennale will also repurpose historical commercial sites like Aspinwall & Company Ltd for exhibitions, continuing its tradition of connecting with Kochi's rich history and urban landscape.
