Knock Knock Knock: Wrought Iron Door Knockers from the Cesati Collection at Labirinto della Masone
In Fontanellato, Parma, the Labirinto della Masone is celebrating two significant milestones: the tenth anniversary of the labyrinth and the fifth anniversary of Franco Maria Ricci's passing. The exhibition titled "Knock Knock Knock. Guardiani di ferro dalla collezione Cesati," curated by Maddalena Casalis and Elisa Rizzardi, showcases 65 wrought iron door knockers from the Cesati collection, which date back to the 14th through 18th centuries and originate mainly from Italy, Spain, France, Germany, and Austria. This display examines the transformation of door knockers from medieval defense mechanisms to symbols of prestige. Additionally, it features photographic works by Roberto Bigano and large-format images of doors by Massimo Listri. The foundation is overseen by Laura Casalis and Edoardo Pepino, who uphold Ricci's legacy.
