KM Design Fits a Vintage Car Museum Inside a Lviv Shopping Center

KM Design has completed VIK Cars Museum on the second floor of a shopping center in Lviv, Ukraine, a project that required building a freight elevator to lift vehicles into the space. The 1,500 sqm museum, opened in 2025, houses a private collection of 38 vintage automobiles spanning over a century, from a Packard to a Ferrari Dino. The founder, an entrepreneur and co-owner of a major Ukrainian supermarket chain, relocated his collection from Dnipro to Lviv after the full-scale invasion. Karina Mayer, founder and chief designer of KM Design, led the project after a conversation about garage design. The museum is organized by manufacturer, with accent lighting and custom ceiling luminaires by Vision Lighting echoing a Mercedes-Benz star. Zoning uses glass partitions with op art patterns, metal relief panels, and terracotta curtains. A circular rotating platform displays a rotating car of the month. The museum includes an event space for business meetings and fashion shows. The entire project, from design to opening, took just two months.
