Kitty Scott named chief curator of 15th Shanghai Biennale

exhibition · 2026-04-24

Kitty Scott has been appointed as the chief curator for the upcoming 15th Shanghai Biennale, which will run from November 8, 2025, to March 31, 2026, at the Power Station of Art. The theme, *Does the flower hear the bee?*, highlights new scientific findings that suggest flowers actively gather information instead of just serving as resources. The biennale will explore sensory communication and intelligence, emphasizing the relationship between humans and the broader natural world. Scott pointed out that while bees share information, flowers can also sense the vibrations of their wings, prompting them to create sweeter nectar. Currently, she serves as the Strategic Director for Shorefast and Fogo Island Arts, and has an impressive background in art curation.
