KIOSK Celebrates 10 Years of Artist Dialogues

KIOSK, a free online editorial project founded by French artist Clémentine Roy (born 1974) about ten years ago, celebrates its first decade. The project pairs two artists for a month-long dialogue without thematic restrictions, fostering intimate and collective narratives. Maria Adele Del Vecchio (born 1976 in Caserta) serves as the artistic director for the current year. In an interview, she explains that she selects artists primarily from the Naples area, which she describes as having a determined, international, and vibrant scene. The first dialogue she curated featured Leena Lübbe and Antonio Della Corte, highlighting the influence of constant internet access on perception and interaction. The project also addresses the role of the public as a necessary condition for its existence. During the Coronavirus pandemic, artists Gaia Di Lorenzo and Tommaso De Filippo created a dialogue on quarantine and information, reflecting the social responsibility of artists. Del Vecchio emphasizes that artistic vocation and political commitment can be inseparable, as her own work as a social sculptor demonstrates. Upcoming dialogues include Damir Ocko with his drag queen alter ego, Giorgia Garzilli with Natacha De Oliveira, Dario Biancullo, Raffaella Naldi, Giulio Delvè, Alessandro Bava, and Marco Pio Mucci. In August, for the first time, two young artists who do not know each other—Veronica Bisesti and Caterina De Nicola—will collaborate, using a workshop-like process.
