Kim Jones Channels Fendi Heritage and Roman Archaeology at Milan Fashion Week

other · 2026-04-27

Kim Jones presented his second women's ready-to-wear collection for Fendi at Milan Fashion Week, drawing on the house's archive and the personal style of the five Fendi sisters. The show opened with the phrase "She is here," referencing both the Fendi woman and the brand's matriarchal legacy. Jones transformed everyday pieces like Silvia Venturini Fendi's shirt-jacket into luxurious shearling and mink versions. The palette focused on monochromes in powder, black, and white, with texture variations across silk satin, wool, and fur. Delfina Delettrez Fendi's jewelry line was integrated into the collection, including the new Fendi O'Lock line with carabiner-shaped graphics and padlocks that open only by spelling FENDI. Wax seal pendants with Karligraphy motifs adorned gold chains, while leather-wrapped metal bracelets with Selleria stitching echoed the brand's style. The collection involved artisans from 20 Italian regions to reinvent the Baguette bag. Other bags included the Fendi First clutch by Silvia Venturini Fendi, with a monogram clasp. The runway set by Alexandre de Betak featured large F-shaped glass cases containing archaeological remains, in collaboration with Galerie Chenel of Paris, specialists in antiquities with a focus on Roman sculpture. The soundtrack was by Michele Gaubert.
