Kim Gordon's 'Stories for a Body' Opens at Collection Lambert in Avignon
From May 24 to September 20, 2026, Kim Gordon's solo exhibition titled 'Stories for a Body' will be showcased at the Collection Lambert in Avignon. This display encompasses a decade's worth of her artwork, featuring numerous pieces that have never been shown before, located in the basement of the Hôtel de Montfaucon. The exhibition delves into themes of technological fetishism and commodity culture, with accompanying screenings and performances during the 2026 Festival d'Avignon, in collaboration with choreographer Dimitri Chamblas. A founding member of Sonic Youth, Gordon studied at Otis College of Art and Design in the late 1970s and held her inaugural exhibition in 1981. She released her third solo album, 'Play Me', in March 2026, following recent exhibitions at the Deste Foundation (Athens), Museum of Modern Art (Dublin), and Andy Warhol Museum (2019).
