Kim Gordon's 'Count Your Chickens' at Amant Surveys Her Art Since 2007

Kim Gordon, co-founder of Sonic Youth, is the subject of a solo exhibition 'Count Your Chickens' at Amant in Brooklyn, curated by Patricia Margarita Hernández. The show surveys Gordon's visual art from 2007 to the present, including the video 'Jeanetta and Alex' (2026) featuring poet Jeanetta Rich and artist Alex Hubbard. Gordon describes the guitar as 'phallic' and uses it to 'describe electricity in sexual terms.' The exhibition also includes works like 'Paris, Paris' (2025), a print of Paris Hilton with the word 'hi' painted on it, and the 'Airbnb Series' (2019) of nude drawings. A concurrent group show 'Folded,' co-curated by Gordon and Bill Nace, features artists bridging imagery and sound, including Cameron Jamie, Jutta Koether, John Olson, Nate Young, Twig Harper, Dan Greenwood, Lizzi Bougatsos, Dennis Tyfus, and Daniel Higgs. 'Count Your Chickens' runs through August 16, and 'Folded' through May 17, both at Amant.
