Kiana Underwood of Tulipina: Floral Design as Fine Art

Kiana Underwood, the founder and creative director of Tulipina, has made quite a name for herself in the world of luxury floral design, treating color and texture like an art form. Her love for flowers stems from childhood memories in her grandfather's garden and her mother’s blooms like tuberose and narcissus. Partnering with her husband Nate, who handles business and photography, she has built Tulipina into a globally recognized brand, with projects spanning New York, Paris, Dubai, and Tokyo. Her books, 'Color Me Floral' and 'Tulipina's Floral Fantasy', highlight her artistic journey. A recent highlight was designing the first wedding at Le Mont Saint-Michel, France. Currently, she’s working on projects in Macau and Ireland, using floral pin frogs and quality shears in her studio while listening to Bach. Outside work, she enjoys gardening, traveling, playing piano, and spending time with family and her dog. Influences include Bach, Julia Child, and Harry Styles. Originally from Tehran, Iran, she now has studios in New York and Como, Italy.
