Kiaf SEOUL 2025 Announces 175 Galleries, Special Exhibition for Korea-Japan Relations
Kiaf SEOUL is gearing up for its 24th edition, happening from September 3 to 7 at COEX in Seoul. This year, the event will feature 175 galleries from over 20 countries, including 125 from South Korea and 21 new participants like Art of Nature Contemporary from Hong Kong, The Bridge Gallery from Paris, and hide gallery from Tokyo. A special exhibition called Reverse Cabinet marks the 60th anniversary of Korea-Japan diplomatic ties, co-curated by Yoon Juli and Tomoya Iwata, showcasing artists like Don Sunpil and Kei Takemura. Kiaf PLUS will spotlight 19 emerging galleries, and 10 finalists for the Kiaf HIGHLIGHTS Award will each win KRW 10 million. Meanwhile, Frieze Seoul will host nine panels at Studio 159. Sung Hoon Lee, the association's president, emphasized a commitment to improving exhibition quality and promoting Korean art globally.
