Kevin Sinnott, Acclaimed Welsh Painter, Dies at 78

Kevin Sinnott, a celebrated artist from Wales, passed away at the age of 78. He was born in Sarn, Bridgend, to parents from Ireland and became well-known for his piece 'Running Away with the Hairdresser,' which is displayed at the National Museum in Cardiff. Recognized by Museum Wales as one of the leading painters in Wales, his artwork is part of significant collections both in the UK and worldwide. Sinnott, who trained at the Royal College of Art, gained prominence in the 1980s through exhibitions in London and the United States. His pieces are featured in the British Museum, British Council, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Until his passing, he continued to create art in the Garw Valley. He leaves behind four children and 11 grandchildren. An exhibition in his honor is set to take place at Celf Gallery in Cardiff this September.
