Kerem Ozan Bayraktar's First US Solo Show at DIANA NEW YORK

Kerem Ozan Bayraktar's inaugural solo exhibition in the U.S., titled 'Spirits on the Ground,' is showcased by SANATORIUM and curated by Ulya Soley at DIANA NEW YORK from January 9 to February 16, 2025. This site-specific installation acts as a 'living cemetery' filled with mechanical toys, LED lights, plastic containers, videos, batteries, nylon sheets, artificial plants, water, soil, and sand. Bayraktar utilizes purposeless objects—like broken toys and dying plants—to evoke familiar spirits, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of an abandoned workshop or artificial greenhouse. The materials, many locally sourced and some 3D-printed, reflect childhood play, animating the inanimate. An accompanying publication includes contributions from Bayraktar, Zeynep Sayın, and Yağız Özgen, with viewing hours set for Thursday to Sunday, 12-6 pm.
