Kerala art teacher marks 21 years of student exhibitions

VB Venu, an art teacher in Kerala, has been organizing annual exhibitions of paintings by children attending his vacation classes for 21 years. The latest showcase, held at a local venue in Thrissur, featured over 200 works by students aged 6 to 16. Venu started the tradition in 2003 to encourage young artists and sustain their interest in art. The exhibition runs for one week and includes paintings on themes such as nature, festivals, and social issues. Venu, who has taught art for over three decades, believes these showcases build confidence and provide a platform for children to express themselves. The event is supported by the local community and parents.
