Kenzo Digital's 'Air' Installation Opens at Summit One Vanderbilt
Kenzo Digital's immersive installation 'Air' opened on October 21 at Summit One Vanderbilt, the new skyscraper in New York City. Located in the observation deck at 324 meters above Madison Avenue, the work features numerous large silver balloons floating in a transparent space with mirrors that infinitely amplify the environment, offering panoramic views of Manhattan. The installation spans four levels connected by glass elevators that ascend along the building's exterior up to 368 meters, giving the sensation of flying over the city. A Nordic-style lounge bar designed by Snøhetta is also part of the venue. The artist describes 'Air' as a sensory experience that transforms one's relationship with physical space and offers a new perspective on nature. The skyscraper was proposed by Mayor Bill De Blasio as part of the Midtown East rezoning plan and joins The Edge as a must-visit tourist attraction.
