Kengo Kuma Designs Arched Entrance for Angers Cathedral

Japanese architect Kengo Kuma has unveiled a new entrance for the Angevin gothic-style Angers Cathedral in France. The 21-metre-long concrete structure features five arched openings wrapped in archivolts, ornamental bands that frame views of historic sculptures. Kuma's studio stated the design aims to create "a harmonious dialogue" with the medieval architecture.
