Kendell Geers Curates 'EVERYTHING IS TRUE – NOTHING IS PERMITTED' at Brutus Rotterdam

From 8 March to 15 June 2025, Kendell Geers will present 'EVERYTHING IS TRUE – NOTHING IS PERMITTED' at Brutus in Rotterdam. This exhibition showcases the work of over 80 global artists, including notable figures such as Marina Abramović, Kara Walker, and Alfredo Jaar. The event intertwines themes of protest and celebration, challenging the commodification prevalent in the art market. Featured pieces confront issues like police brutality, racism, and capitalist excess. Many participating artists have encountered persecution. Set in a raw industrial environment, the exhibition features works printed on walls amidst rust and peeling paint, reminiscent of Dadaist and Surrealist styles. It also includes films related to significant events, alongside 15 live performances, including new pieces by Mandy El-Sayegh and Regina José Galindo. Some works are sourced from the A/POLITICAL collection, which advocates for controversial artists and has collaborated with WikiLeaks for Julian Assange's release.
