Ken Gonzales-Day Creates Glass Murals for LAC-Adjacent Metro Station

Artist Ken Gonzales-Day has introduced a striking glass installation at the Wilshire/Fairfax Metro D Line Station near the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). Titled "Urban Excavation," the artwork is a collaboration with Metro Art and features images drawn from a selection of over 4,000 pieces at LACMA, highlighting 70 notable sculptures that represent various cultural backgrounds, including African and European influences. The accompanying glass murals depict artifacts dating back to 200 BCE and 500 CE. Additionally, a discussion featuring artist Todd Gray is planned at the adjacent Wilshire/La Cienega Station on May 17, 2026.
