Kelterborn Collection Debuts in Italy with 'Who’s a good boy??' at Venice Biennale 2026
The Kelterborn Collection, a private German assembly dedicated to video art and experimental installations, will make its first appearance in Italy at the 2026 Venice Biennale. Titled 'Who’s a good boy??', the exhibition is scheduled from May 7 to September 27, 2026, at Contemporary Forces, a new mobile platform located on Giudecca Island. Curators Anastasia Stravinsky and Mario von Kelterborn have selected twelve artists, including Victor Alarcon, Swen Bernitz, and Joseph Beuys. The exhibition's name is inspired by a wall painting from Nora Turato. It explores themes of power 'in minor keys,' resonating with the Biennale's overarching theme. The collection, initiated in the 1990s by Julia and Mario von Kelterborn in Frankfurt, highlights pressing political and philosophical issues. Collaborating with IKT – International Association of Curators of Contemporary Art, the collectors will also unveil their 'Manifesto for Collecting Art,' which promotes collecting as an act of care and responsibility. The collection's first acquisition was by Anke Röhrscheid, while the latest is 'Does Peace Have To Be So Violent?' by Valentina Knežević. Following the Venice event, a show will be held at Recontemporary in Turin starting September 2026.
