Keith Haring on Italian TV: 1984 Footage Resurfaces

A 1984 video of Keith Haring appearing on the Italian television program "Mister Fantasy" has resurfaced. The show, hosted by Carlo Massarini and broadcast by RAI, featured Haring creating a live painting at the Rolling Stone venue in Milan. During the segment, Haring discussed the distinction between his subway graffiti in New York and the sanctioned work he was doing for the show, stating, "When I'm in the New York subway, it's graffiti. When it's illegal, it's graffiti. Here it's not the same thing." He also commented on the artwork he was painting, saying it addressed "the biggest problem for today's man: keeping up with technology and understanding where it is taking us, but also maintaining a sense of self, the ability to look inside oneself."
