KDSHA at Villa Chamoun Unveils Pool Installation and MASHAWIR Exhibition

exhibition · 2026-04-23

The annual KDSHA event, now in its third year, takes place in Lebanon's UNESCO-listed Kadisha Valley. Venezuelan artist Daniel Rey has created a pool installation called 'Alchemical Splash', which turns the Villa Chamoun pool into a surreal underwater landscape, delving into themes of escapism and architecture. Rey, honored with the LVHM Maison/0 The Earth Award (2023) and a participant in Bloomberg New Contemporaries (2023), is joined by curator Rania Tabbara in a group exhibition. 'MASHAWIR (Journeys)' showcases 17 pieces from artists including Ghassan Zard, Samar Mogharbel, and Hady Sy, with Zard's works featuring sculpted tree trunks. The villa, built in 1965, was restored by local artisans. Rony Zibara founded KDSHA to promote contemporary art dialogue.
