Kay Rosen's Biennial Debut in Umbrian Hilltown

In the medieval Italian hilltown of Monte Castello di Vibio (PG), Umbria, the Poor Farm and BB Trust House are set to introduce a biennial exhibition series. The first showcase, named We Have a Synching Feeling, highlights the work of artist Kay Rosen, who has spent decades examining the structure, sound, and social implications of language. Rosen's pieces will be displayed in various local residences, engaging in a regional dialogue with the artistic practices of conceptualists like Sol LeWitt, Brian O'Doherty, Mel Bochner, and Richard Tuttle, who responded to the cultural and physical landscape of Umbria. For over sixty years, Rosen has investigated the nuances of linguistic form, and this new program aspires to further the conversation between contemporary art and Umbria's distinctive context.
