Kawneer launches forced-entry resistant building systems

Kawneer has introduced Forced Entry Solutions, a portfolio of ASTM F3561-tested storefront, entrance, and hardware configurations for high-security public buildings. The systems address rising security demands in education, healthcare, and government facilities. In the U.S., an estimated 50,000 school buildings over 50 years old require security upgrades. The portfolio includes validated configurations across framing, entrances, and hardware, applying a two-phase ASTM F3561 test: ballistic pattern on glazing and impact testing with a 100-pound dropped impactor. Products include Trifab Versaglaze 451/451T and 601T dry glaze, IR 521T framing, and 350/500 IR entrance systems with Kawneer 1686 CVR, Von Duprin FER-99 RIM, and Sargent PE8800 RIM hardware. The systems aim to provide delayed entry and occupant shelter during forced-entry events.
