Katherine Jenkins Launches Cygnet Gin with Manuka Honey

Cygnet Gin, founded by classical vocalist Katherine Jenkins and her husband Andrew Levitas, is a groundbreaking spirit that uses Manuka honey as its signature ingredient. Jenkins, a lifelong gin enthusiast, sought a gin that wouldn't irritate her vocal cords, leading her to create a smooth finish using Manuka honey, which she had used for years for its throat-soothing properties. The gin is distilled at the historic Copperworks Distillery in Swansea, Wales, using vapor infusion to handle delicate botanicals like chamomile, lemon balm, and rose petal. Sixth-generation distiller Chris Sadler was initially skeptical but was convinced by the result. Cygnet 22, named after the year of creation and Jenkins' age at her record deal, has won gold medals at the World Gin Awards, International Wine & Spirits Competition, and San Francisco World Spirits Competition. The bottle, designed by Jenkins with Eric Villency, is a teardrop shape that weighs 50% less than average, with removable labels to encourage reuse. The brand emphasizes sustainability, with the distillery chosen for its environmental responsibility.
