Karel Martens Launches Ticker Typeface with Jung-Lee Type Foundry
Karel Martens, a Dutch designer, has introduced Ticker, his third typeface, in partnership with Jung-Lee Type Foundry based in Amsterdam. This innovative modular typographic system enables users to craft layered color designs and variable shapes using various font styles. Ticker's variable font adapts its forms and comes with a poster showcasing a vibrant design by Martens alongside a poem from Jung-Lee. Rather than serving as a conventional typeface, Ticker functions as an open modular playground. At 86 years old, Martens recently graced the cover of Fantastic Man and held his first significant retrospective, 'Sin Límites', at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. His previous typefaces include Jungka and Pirelli, and Ticker is offered in three formats.
