Kanitha Tith's 'Cycle of Life' Exhibition at SNA Arts Management Explores Abstraction and Memory

From January 16 to March 14, 2026, 'Cycle of Life,' a solo exhibition by Kanitha Tith, was showcased by SNA Arts Management in Phnom Penh. The exhibition featured a variety of works, including large-scale paintings, aquarelle drawings, metal-wire sculptures, and the video 'Boding' (2025). Tith's art delves into themes of memory, dreams, and the history of Cambodia. Notable pieces such as 'Untitled (02 - 03)' (2025) resemble marine invertebrates and common items. The painting 'Black ink (TK26J-049)' (2012) alludes to the tumultuous period following King Norodom Sihanouk's death. 'Boding' captures the essence of the White Building, which was torn down in 2017. Tith’s watercolor drawings feature faceless figures, embodying the Buddhist idea of 'vat sangsa.' The exhibition reflects on Phnom Penh's evolution and collective memory. Review by Hung Duong.
