Kamin Lertchaiprasert’s Five-Year Self-Enquiry Project Launches in Chiang Mai
In August 2023, Chiang Mai artist Kamin Lertchaiprasert inaugurated the Self-Enquiry Project at his 31st Century Museum of Contemporary Spirit, a five-year initiative featuring rotating exhibitions every three to four months that reflect on his artistic journey with collaborators. The inaugural exhibition showcases early self-portraits from 1983 to 1986 alongside a new 40-minute video titled Humanimal (2023), which is a therapy session with Dujdao Vadhanapakorn. Lertchaiprasert, who co-founded The Land Foundation and now acts as an adviser, draws inspiration from Buddhism and quantum mechanics. His notable past projects include Before Birth – After Death (2008–2011) and Pure Perception (2021–2022). The third exhibition, No Reference Conditions, is available until May 30, 2024, and his environmental project, Art for Air, will continue until October 2024.
