Kamel Mennour expands to London with Latifa Echakhch exhibition in Mayfair

institutional · 2026-04-20

Parisian dealer Kamel Mennour will launch a London gallery at 51 Brook Street in Mayfair on 4 October 2016, featuring a solo show by Latifa Echakhch. The 60-square-meter space marks his first satellite location abroad, a move he initially resisted but found irresistible. Despite Brexit uncertainties, several European galleries are also establishing London presences. Almine Rech, based in Brussels, plans a second Mayfair showroom to complement its Savile Row gallery opened in 2014. Per Skarstedt, a Swedish dealer operating from New York, inaugurates a second London space at 8 Bennet Street in St James's with exhibitions by Cindy Sherman and David Salle. Thaddaeus Ropac will open a five-floor outpost on Dover Street in spring 2017. Mennour founded his Paris gallery in 1999.
