Kakinoki Masato presents audiovisual digital music performance at ArtReview Bar
On Thursday 18 May at 7pm, Japanese musician and audiovisual artist Kakinoki Masato, who performs as abirdwhale, will present a new digital music performance at the ArtReview Bar in London. The event at 1 Honduras Street, London EC1Y 0TH, is open to all attendees. Masato, a PhD candidate in Music at Canterbury Christ Church University, explores an alternative approach to music that moves beyond traditional DJ sets and live band performances. His work investigates physical presence and fluidity through audiovisual experimentation. He has composed soundtracks and an inserted song for the feature film 'Fragile', directed by Shingo Ota, which screened internationally including at the Tokyo International Film Festival. Masato also won the Best Remix award in the PROGRESSIVE FOrM Tetsuya Hikita+NIL 'Water Wheel' Remix Contest. More information about the artist is available at kakinokimasato.com.
