Kader Attia assembles international curatorial team for 2022 Berlin Biennale with decolonial focus
For the 2022 Berlin Biennale, Kader Attia has selected five curators from diverse global backgrounds, emphasizing a decolonial viewpoint. Among them is Ana Teixeira Pinto, a Berlin-based theorist who collaborates with Attia and Anselm Franke on the 'Whose Universal?' project at Haus der Kulturen der Welt. Đỗ Tường Linh from Hanoi co-founded Six Space and has worked with VCCA, Mơ Art Space, Hanoi DocLab, and Nhà Sàn Collective. Marie Helene Pereira from Dakar directs programs at RAW Material Company and has co-curated shows in Cali and Mumbai. Noam Segal from New York founded the nonprofit Rothschild 69 and organized the 2020 Aurora Biennial. Rasha Salti, who works in Beirut and Berlin, curated 'The Road to Damascus' and co-organized 'Saving Bruce Lee' with Koyo Kouoh. In an October chat with Berlin Art Link, Attia spoke about art's power to heal collective trauma and its potential for misuse. The biennale is scheduled for 2022 in Berlin.
