KAAN Architecten Completes Matchbox, a Wooden Mixed-Use Building in Eindhoven

Matchbox, a wooden mixed-use structure in Eindhoven's Strijp-S district, has been finalized by KAAN Architecten. This building serves as a tranquil landmark on the site of the former Philips industrial complex, presenting a sustainable alternative to traditional concrete. Encompassing 4,700 square meters, Matchbox integrates offices, social rental housing, and communal outdoor areas within its modular framework, with a projected completion date of 2026. The project is curated by Nina Vuga, featuring principal architects Vincent Panhuysen, Kees Kaan, Dikkie Scipio, Timo Cardol, and Hannes Ochmann. Stam + De Koning Bouw acts as the general contractor, while ABT B.V and others provide engineering services. The client is Trudo, and MOSO Bamboo is the product supplier.
