Ka Art Project Blends Walking Routes with Art in Pollino National Park

The Ka Art project, organized by ArtePollino, transforms the Pollino National Park—straddling Basilicata and Calabria—into a series of artistic itineraries. The program features exceptional guides from the arts world, including performers from the Art House collective selected by Claudia Losi and Adrian Paci, a dance show by Jérôme Bel, and a dinner-performance by Lucy + Jorge Orta. In June, four days of walking with Matteo Caccia (host of Pascal on Rai Radio 2) covered routes from Bosco Magnano and Torrente Peschiera to I Calanchi, Bosco Pantano and Magna Grecia, and the Sassi and rock sites of Matera. Later in June, writer Antonio Pascale and astrophysicist Amedeo Balbi led "Il cuore verso il cielo" with music by Riccardo Sinigallia. The exhibition "Ritratti di umanità" presents three stories and twenty-five plates by writer Elvira Dones and illustrator Marco Cazzato, first shown at Anish Kapoor's Earth Cinema in the Parco delle Terme Lucane in Latronico, and from July 1 moved to Matera. The exhibition runs until July 28, 2019, at Palazzo del Casale in Matera and at Arena Sinni in Senise.
